I am using them as a shin guard following a bad accident. They are ideal, light and very protective, pity they only come in pairs as my othrt leg is fine

These do exactly what is needed. Used for judo training - have saved some bruises! Worn by my 13 year old son who has very slim legs - good fit but would easily still fit those wth bigger legs. Well worth the money

Update on my original review that I've left below for reference. I've increased to 4 stars instead of my initial 3. I left the pads in a squeezed folded position on my radiator overnight. This has shaped them to my shins and they really do fit and stay in position much better now. Have stopped some reasonably tough blows so on the whole I'd say they do the job and are good value for money when the fit has adapted to your shape.
UPDATED: A little disappointed with these. My first pair of shin protectors purchased after previously borrowing somebody else's (which worked a treat and I liked). Main criticism is that the area of protection is quite small/precise which would be fine BUT they move and twist around the leg a bit, so the shins occasionally get exposed and risk of a painful clash from an overconfident strike. As sure as eggs are eggs I'm smarting quite a bit as I write! The size guide is on the blitz web site so I know the medium that I bought is the recommended size for my shin length, I wouldn't want anything smaller - they would probably be fine if they were a tighter fit, so if you've got well developed calfs you might be fine with these.

Fit nicely given my height 5'7ft. Seem to do the job, although there's no cleaning instructions so I'm not quite sure if I can wash them when they soak a lot of sweat.

I opted for the Large size and they were a perfect fit for me (shin+calf circumference 38cm). They stay up on my shins and don't slip past my ankles (which is a key consideration). Refreshing not to be sore all week after training! Excellent product!

Not only for tournaments but used for extra support while basic training. I was going to go with a more expensive pair (dipped, toe guard etc.) but was really made up with these.

Great padding and they wash really well. I wear them for judo and they've really saved me from getting really bruised!

Good support and padding, real good value for money. I have had others from other suppliers but these are of better quality.
