Interesting bit of kit, 6/1/2012
(London, UK)
I was looking for a kick shield that was small enough to carry around in a normal bag but could withstand a powerful kick and stumbled upon this. The first thing you notice about this is the weight, its quite heavy because its not filled with foam like most kick shields but with bits of cloth much like a heavy bag. The cloths seems to have far better at absorbing blows than foam. This means that although this product is quite small it appears to be able to adsorb massive blows but unfortunately is quite heavy, which may be a problem if holding for a long time. I think maybe taking out some of the cloth should make it lighter. It has two rings of the bottom that can be used to hang it on a wall to create a wall bag. In theory you could wrap a belt through the rings and use it as a thigh pad as well? The product description does no justice to this product and I was pleasantly surprised with this. I have not had the chance the properly test this so I might be wrong but based of initial testing it appears to be a excellent bit of kit for people that want to be able to adsorb powerful blows without having to carry around a massive kick shield.
