It's a bit heavier than it should be and balance is a bit off to front. This makes the blade faster, but also bit harder to handle. Inside is solid wood, so the foam doesn't make a big difference. If you hit hard to anywhere, you'll be hurt. If i had to choose between this and wooden bokken, i'd go for wooden for better balance and handling. But overall this is a decent product to practice your kenjutsu with.
